The Mani Group plays an important role in the local Buddhist community. It does Mani practice during full moon and New Moon in the NJC Monastery as well as for people who have died. Although other Buddhist communities have had active Mani Groups for many years it is only in recent times that the Tamang community has followed suit. The Mani Group was established in 2007 and has grown to over 50 members since its inception. Under the guidance of Gen Karma Pasang they come together regularly to learn and recite the Mani prayers. Other Mani groups are also in , Sharlahi, Narayanthan, Hetauda, Rasuwa and many other places over Central, eastern and western Region of Nepal.
